Dear Lord,
Today marks the first year since I took off my corporate hat and donned my domestic one and devoted all my time to being a wife and a mom. At first, I thought it was easy since all I have to do was be at home and do stuff at home. As the months passed, I was slowly getting bored – missing the fast-paced life of a corporate office.
But You were so good, Lord. You have given me the grace to get through it all. I have learned more about myself, my husband and my son. I saw my family in a whole new perspective and my faith soared to new heights as well. You have surrounded me with people who encouraged and affirmed my decision to stay at home. Through them, I have seen Your glory for You have worked in their lives. I have seen how you have provided for their families, how you have blessed their husband’s works, how You have blessed them with more children, how You have blessed their children, and how You have given them businesses that prosper. Through them, I have seen how faith can bring us to new horizons – places we never would have been if we haven’t trusted in You and left our old lives.
You have surrounded me with women of faith who also took the same leap as I did and they are just living testimonies of Your love. I thank You for this, my God. Thank You also for guiding me a year ago in my decision to be a housewife and a full-time mom. Thank You for the grace that You have given me all this time – every time I lose my patience or I feel depressed, You were there. Thank You for blessing my husband and always providing for us. Your provisions were and are never late, my God. Thank You for helping me nourish and cultivate my family through my mere presence in their lives. Thank You for the new business that we have. Thank You for helping me find myself and finally helping me realize my true passion – teaching. Thank You for the doors You have opened for us. Thank You for during this time, I have grown closer to You and have come to understand You more.
And so for the coming years of my being a full-time wife and mom, I pray Lord that You will continue to give me strength and courage to face the challenges my role would bring. I know that You have planted me in this place Lord, so I can bloom fully. I pray for wisdom in raising my son, more love for me to give to my family, especially to my husband, more patience, and a more open mind. I pray that I will grow in faith further and be a good example to my family. May I be the wife and mother after Your own heart, my God. Guide me and bless me. These I pray for me and for all the stay-at-home moms out there. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
